The Weekend Whites
Put them on ice. Weekend sorted.
Three Australian whites made for long lunches, late afternoons and the kind of weekends that don’t need much of a plan. Heroes Das Helden Riesling, Delinquente Bianco and Mount Avoca Chardonnay bring three very different takes on white wine; bright, interesting and very easy to share.
Bring them away for the weekend. Turn up to lunch with all three. Or put them in the fridge Friday and see what makes it to Sunday.
The Wines
Three whites. No boring bottles.
Heroes Das Helden Riesling is bright, aromatic and full of energy. Made in South Australia’s Eden Valley, it’s a fresh expression of Riesling from a small producer doing things thoughtfully and with plenty of personality.
Minimum Bianco brings something a little less expected. Made from Italian varieties grown in South Australia’s Riverland, it’s vibrant, textural and exactly the kind of wine that makes you want another glass before you’ve finished the first.
Then Mount Avoca Chardonnay rounds things out with a little more generosity and texture. Grown in Victoria’s Pyrenees by one of Australia’s pioneering organic wineries, it’s Chardonnay with a sense of place and plenty to bring to the table.
Chill well. Open as required. Weekend accordingly.
