A red shaped by what’s under the vines.
Small-batch Australian Nebbiolo from GKLR in Heathcote, grown on a vineyard where ancient soils have helped decide what gets planted. Fragrant red fruit and spice meet freshness and fine, grippy tannins.

Drink this when
Dinner calls for something a little more interesting and no one is in a rush to leave.
Worth opening
Nebbiolo may be Italian by origin, but GKLR’s version is deeply connected to Colbinabbin. Former geologist Gerard Kennedy uses his understanding of the site’s ancient soils to guide varieties suited to the vineyard and a changing climate.
The wine has also picked up 95 points and a Gold Medal — useful proof that the experiment is working.
Meet the maker
Before wine, Gerard Kennedy was a geologist. Today, Gerard and Lucy bring that geological eye to GKLR, matching Italian varieties to their Colbinabbin site rather than simply planting what everyone else does.
Pair it with
Mushroom risotto · Slow-cooked beef ragu · Wood-fired pizza
