Das Helden takes Riesling somewhere less expected. The ferment is cooled before it finishes, retaining natural sweetness while bright acidity keeps the wine fresh rather than heavy.
Meet the maker
James Thomas learnt his craft at Bannockburn and Clyde Park before heading into the Otways with Eloise to do things their own way. Heroes grew from an off-the-beaten-track vineyard they believed in; Das Helden is James’s small-run nod to German Kabinett Riesling.
